Finally – gloriously chilly fall weather is here! And with it comes the promise of changing leaves, pumpkins, apples (just as notably apple cider), layers of cashmere, leather and flannel – to name just a few of my fall favorites. There is something so special about this time of year. I’m not sure if it is reminiscent nostalgia from back to school days of childhood, but the fall always brings feelings of new beginnings and with that: anything is possible. This year that holds true for me in a big way as I have gone through a number of changes and new beginnings, most recently was starting a new job. Having the opportunity to start working on something new not only gives fresh perspective but also has rekindled in me an even greater excitement and passion for what I do. I know most people think about spring as the season of growth and rebirth. In that case–analogies be damned–this fall is my spring.
Ok – now onto this look! I was recently on the hunt for the perfect pair of high waisted skinny jeans – and I believe to have found just that in this pair from Joe’s Jeans. They hit at just the right place and are singlehandedly giving some favorite crop tops longevity and purpose past the summer season. What is so appealing to me about this cropped flannel is the oversized boxy cut combined with the seductive crop. I have layered it over my stay weird top – because let’s be honest, who strives for normalcy anyways?
