New Year’s Eve is vastly overrated. There, I said it.
Now that we have gotten that out of the way, let’s have a quick chat about what to wear for it. Because New Year’s Eve does allow for fab outfits, so that’s something right? And, let’s be honest, even though it is extraordinarily overrated and even though each year we promise ourselves that we will stay in next year, NYE is a great excuse to dress up. So this year, other than my outfit – which will be stellar – I plan to treat NYE just like any other night. I refuse to be conned into paying far too much to do something far too disappointing: such as sipping lousy, too sweet, champagne from a plastic flute while getting elbowed in the ribs by someone you don’t know who is looking for their NYE kiss with people you don’t really care to be near dramatically countdown the final moments of 2015. Nah, I’m good, thanks!
Instead I recommend surrounding yourself with close friends and doing something more intimate this year (while keeping the outfit standards oh-so-high). Wear the feathers (like this rose colored feather skirt that is now on sale!), the sequins, the lamé and wrap up the holiday season in the style that it deserves – surrounded by friends, prosecco and laughter.
Happy almost NYE kids!
