I hope that everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend – I know I did! Now that we have all had a blissfully-sunny, long-weekend sized taste of summer… who is ready for more? Fourth of July anyone!?
This long-weekend put me in the mood for relaxed, weekend-appropriate clothing: nothing more, nothing less. These boyfriend jeans are a staple for me; whether dressed-up with pumps and a blazer or completely dressed-down as done in this look, they are a tried-and-true go-to. And the shirt… I have become notorious amongst the men in my family recently for stealing (“borrowing”) their button-down shirts. My grandfather, dad and brother are all most certainly either chuckling or rolling their eyes while reading this. But there is something so good about a worn in men’s button-down. Sometimes buying a new one off the rack just doesn’t bring the right dose of authenticity. So, never to be deterred, I have resorted to “borrowing.” This particular shirt is a hand-me-down from my big brother. I love how the oversized worn fabric looks when the sleeves are exaggeratedly cuffed and how the shirt is cropped with a classic square knot.
I finished this look with my white Birkenstocks because there is no denying it people – they’re baaacckk (and better than ever)! Who doesn’t dream of rocking their favorite middle school kicks in their 20s and felling like a chic son-of-a-gun while dong it!?!
Happy almost weekend, weekend warriors!!
