This skirt is everything. A friend of mine wore it to a wedding this summer and then lent it to me to wear to a wedding. Finding a wedding outfit that isn’t a total snooze is always very exciting. We all know wedding outfits can be tricky because you don’t want–and I certainly don’t think you should, either–draw unnecessary attention to yourself. Uh: not your day, period. That said, it’s not illegal to have fun so, I think, a little something is more than okay to avoid a bore of an outfit. And this skirt certainly is not a bore – I love the classic silhouette in the elegant flirty color. This color pink is just the right kind of girly without being in your face. And clearly I was inspired by the soft hue when accessorizing – note the necklace, nail color and ring. If you can’t tell, I’m into it. There is also something about sequins – when done right – they are so much fun to wear.
I was recently asked what is one piece you wouldn’t sell – I almost instantly answered vintage Chanel. This bag is one such item. And these shoes – I recently got them from Club Monaco and have been living in them. The first time that I wore them was to a (you guessed it!) wedding – which was a bit of a rookie move. I was half expecting to need a box of blister band aids – because what kind of misguided hopeful wears brand new, not worn in shoes to a wedding (especially the kind of wedding where you just know there will be a lot of dancing that you aren’t willing to sit out)!? But these shoes were fantastic – I danced the night away blister free. So, if you are in need of a chic black heel that will become a staple, I highly recommend them.
Happy Monday! Hope that your weekend ruled!
