Ok, so recently this whole “squad goals” and the idea of the pack mentality has been a trending topic on social media and in life. The more that I think about it, the more I believe that what it all comes down to is people. Good people facilitate a good time. So of course, surrounding ourselves with fun and rad individuals is a positive thing. This summer has been full of changes for me and many of these changes have led to and involved some pretty amazing new people. I’m all for ending the era of “no new friends” and the “you can’t sit with us” mentality. Because really, why wouldn’t you want to make some super stellar new friends? Am I right?
How does this relate to clothes and getting dressed in the morning? Allow me to take you there: dressing to stand out from the pack. I know I’ve recently shared my random musings on who we dress for. But the funny thing about us millennials is that we all strive to look like the most accurate versions of ourselves while simultaneously looking like nobody else. We celebrate the extraordinary and the individual and turn our noses up at the idea of looking *basic*. So, in short, we want to surround ourselves with outlandishly cool people but heaven forbid we look like them. Yup! We sure are confusing (or is it confused?).
Whether you’re calling your people a family, pack, tribe, squad, crew — you get the idea — what’s important is that you’re doing you and enjoying it.
Let’s go get ’em kids – and cheers to new (and old) friends!
