My New York Fashion Week Recap

September 20, 2015

The Village Vogue - NYFW

What a whirlwind! New York Fashion Week is officially over and it has left me with tired feet and dreaming of flowers, fringe and paradise. Here is a quick play by play of my NYFW favorite moments.

My week started on a high note at the A Moi presentation, which was a stellar lineup of livable clothes for the modern cool girl — looks ranged from sleek and polished to understated whimsy. My favorite pieces were those covered in fringe appliqué flowers. That bomber jacket is a truly a dream – am I right!?

Yup, I am.

Other notes from the week: sequins prevail. J. Crew, Rosie Assoulin and Tibi left me seeing shimmer and shine and wanting a time machine so that I can wear those SS16 sequined numbers NOW. See some of my faves below:

A real stand out for me was Zimmermann – which is always a favorite of mine. So it was no surprise that their collection did not disapoint. At Zimmermann, every single look was layered delicate perfection.

A highlight of my fashion week was the Lela Rose show which was in a word – feminine. Everything from the sheer pants, lucite heels, embellished clutches and showstopper floral gowns was perfection. Before you go all Miranda Priestly on me and think “Florals? For spring? Ground breaking.” please allow me to take you there. The flowers that covered the catwalk at Lela Rose were anything but ordinary. They used texture by way of sheer silk and mixed in unexpected hints of shine and neon to create flowers straight out of a fairytale and not to mention, the most etherial floral gowns fit for a goddess. They didn’t stop there – even the ceiling above the runway was a canopy of pink tulips that literally appeared to be floating in mid air – it was ART people. And it left me feeling inspired.
