Fringe is such a simple detail that is certainly not new but it is one that I am in no way tired of. Fringe adds texture, movement, and dimension in a playfully sexy and fresh way. This leather fringe skirt was a Zara find that I expected to tire of quickly and yet, several years later I still love it. As we all know, opportunities to bear your legs sans-pants in open toed shoes have become few and far between due to due to strict policies and limitations set forth by: the weather. So when there was an only slightly mild sunny day this past week I seized the opportunity to break this bad boy out. Although don’t let me fool you, I was quite chilly. And after spending this weekend in LA I firmly believe that this look would have been more suitable for the comfortable cool California evenings that I’m leaving behind (literally – sitting on the airplane back to freezing cold NYC as I write this). BUT for all of us East Coast natives, there is something to be said for being able to wear a sweater AND a fabulous piece of outerwear comfortably. Right??
For the rest of this look I kept it to black and white which felt classic and clean next to the fringe. Adding a pop of color with a red lip and I’m ready to go – the weekend is just around the corner after all! xx
