I hate talking about the weather because it is one of those things that people talk about when they have nothing else to fill the air with. BUT this weather deserves some air time. It’s playing us hot and cold and cold and hot and I can’t keep track. It’s giving me whiplash.
But, one good thing about this disorderly weather is that I’ve been able to get a few dresses back into the rotation before it officially becomes too cold for legs. This floral dress is one of them and it is everything. I would like to point out that it is meant to be knotted at the top but I really dig the way it looks all easy, breezy (beautiful) undone like this. Don’t you agree? No?
Fine, be that way. I dig it.
There is one thing about dresses though, that I actually dislike. They are too easy. It’s one stop shopping, you put one article of clothing on and you’re dressed, done, ready to roll. It takes the fun out of creating an outfit and combining pieces you never EVER thought you would wear together but now that you’ve put them both on are certain that they were made for each other. I’m not the only one who has experienced that type of wardrobe epiphany deep in the depths of outfit creation, right?
Right, back to reality (and dresses). Due to their overt ease and predictability, I swore off of dresses for a few weeks last summer. It was great, I wore a whole lot of shorts and a wide array of tops (many of the cropped variety). But recently, dresses are working their way back into my wardrobe and I’m ok with it. Because when the dress looks like this, one stop shopping works for me. That doesn’t mean that I’m not going to unknot the fabric that is so clearly meant to be knotted. Because, sometimes messing with a good thing makes it even better.
