So you know how they say orange is the new black. Well, they’re wrong. Trust me.
Black is and will always be the go-to, stand out, unrivaled color/non-color when it comes to what to wrap your torso and limbs in. If you don’t believe me, please, wear head to toe orange and take a good look in the mirror. If you don’t think you look like a cheese doodle with feet then, well, you’re lying.
So yeah, black it is. And you might be thinking: What better time to wrap yourself in an all black layered look than Halloween weekend. Right?
Wrong! Well, only partially wrong, because really any time is a good time to wear head to toe black. The key here is making it look *cool* and adding your own flair. Essentially, when wearing a head to toe black outfit (or head to toe any color for that matter) it is the details that will make or break your game.
Take this look as an example, I pretty much live for an redundantly oversized cashmere scarf (let’s be real, this bad boy should be generously called a blanket), and things that are backless are also my jam. So, I feel unapologetically at home in these black layers. Details and layers people, details and layers — that is the magic behind a monotone look. Give it a try sometime, you may even surprise yourself.
Happy Halloween/NYC Marathon/October weekend Superheroes!
