I’ve been searching for the perfect camel coat for a while. By my memory, it’s been at least 3 years, or over 1000 days…”a while” could be an understatement. I found some that I liked but I was holding out for one that I loved, and this coat from Theory fit the bill. The tone of the camel color and simple styling fulfill my goldilocks definition of just right. This coat has got me thinking about smart shopping. For me this means buying things less based on impulse and with more focus on things I know I can wear multiple ways in multiple seasons. Because honestly, how many sequin tops does one girl actually need? I of course don’t mean that I want my closet to turn into a total bore or something resembling a set of cliche uniforms. But I want to buy things that I will continue to wear in months or years. And with less impulse purchasing, I will challenge myself to reinvent and repurpose the treasures hidden in the depths of my closet that rarely get to see the light of day. Anyone else feeling an affinity toward classic silhouettes and neutral coloring recently?
